General Pediatrics RN — Night Shift | Long Beach, CA | 13-Week Contract

This travel nursing opportunity places you in a busy general pediatrics unit caring for patients ranging from neonates to young adults (2 days to 21 years old). The unit manages a broad mix of medical and surgical patients, with census that climbs during respiratory season. No transplants and no vented patients on this unit.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required (Fri & Sat nights)
• No on-call requirement

Float Requirements

Candidates must be comfortable floating based on census to:

• General Pediatrics (same patient population)
• Peds Hematology/Oncology (primarily sickle cell crisis or counts-recovery patients; chemo delivery is handled by the Hem/Onc RN)
• NICU & PICU (lower acuity assignments)

Required Certifications & Licensure

• BLS, PALS
• Active California RN license required prior to submission

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Key clinical skills include: central line care, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, TPN/lipids, BiPAP/CPAP, NG tube management, pediatric dosage calculations, blood product administration, and isolation precautions

• Contract duration: 13 weeks | Start: ASAP
• Orientation: 32 hours
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• RTO must be submitted at time of application; no additions after submission
• 1 professional reference required (within 2 years)
