Postpartum RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Postpartum RN for a 13-week contract, working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), beginning August 25, 2026. This is a high-acuity postpartum unit where you'll care for mothers and newborns during the critical postpartum period.
About the Unit
You'll join a close-knit nursing team on a busy postpartum unit specializing in high-risk maternal and newborn care. The unit operates with flexibility and strong teamwork. Low-risk patients are managed separately at an off-site facility, allowing you to focus on complex cases. Night staffing includes a charge nurse, desk support, and RNs based on census.
Clinical Scope
Your responsibilities will include:
- Postpartum hemorrhage management and maternal vital sign monitoring
- Newborn care including glucose monitoring and circumcision assistance
- Breastfeeding support and lactation guidance
- Maternal hypertension assessment and management
- Newborn screening and nursery-level care
Patient ratios are 3–4 couplets per RN.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of current acute care postpartum hospital experience
- BLS and NRP certifications
- High-risk postpartum or Level 2 Nursery experience preferred
