Emergency Room RN — Hopewell, VA

Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 13-Week Contract

This busy Emergency Department in Hopewell, VA is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift travel contract. The unit manages a broad range of adult and pediatric patients across varying acuity levels, with a collaborative team structure and a strong focus on patient-centered care.

Procedures & Clinical Scope

• Cardioversion and cardiac arrest management
• Central line placements and pacemaker interrogation
• Code Stroke and Code Sepsis protocols
• IV insertions, EKGs, suture/abscess setup, and core ER skills

Required Skills

• Strong IV access skills — both adult and pediatric
• Excellent communication and adaptability
• Preferred: trauma experience, TNCC certification

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI

Schedule Details

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required; at least one Friday and one Monday per 4-week schedule
• No on-call required

• Float potential to a nearby freestanding ED (approximately 15 minutes away)
• Dress code: Teal top with black or teal bottoms
