Ultrasound Sonographer – OB/GYN Focus
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced ultrasound sonographer to join the diagnostic imaging department on a 13-week contract. You'll work the night shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), performing three 12-hour shifts per week.
Clinical Scope
This role focuses on obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound, with a daily census of approximately 10 patients. You'll perform:
- First, second, and third trimester obstetric imaging
- Fetal anatomical surveys and fetal echocardiography
- Maternal-fetal medicine studies, including high-risk OB cases
- Nuchal translucency screening and umbilical cord Doppler
- Abdominal imaging
- Procedures including amniocentesis, thoracentesis, and paracentesis
Required Qualifications
- ARDMS certification
- ARDMS FE (Fetal Echo) credential
- ARDMS OB/GYN credential
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of previous sonography experience
- Valid state license or certification
- References and copies of all certifications
Orientation & Support
80 hours of orientation provided. Interpretation services and interdisciplinary support available. Candidates will complete a required clinical competency exam during onboarding (3 attempts permitted; candidates must pass for clearance).
Compliance Notes
- Labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
- PA fingerprints required within 1 week of signing (receipt must be provided)
- No time off during contract period
