Med/Surg & Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Longmont, CO

This 13-week contract places you on a busy Med/Surg & Telemetry unit managing a diverse medical patient population. The unit cares for patients with congestive heart failure, hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, ia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 6–9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
• Holiday requirement applies
• First to float; extreme needs may require floating within the unit's designated zone

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate drips independently, including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
• Interpret and monitor telemetry strips independently — no monitor techs on unit; escalate concerns to the physician as needed
• Manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and ventilators
• NIHSS competency required

Unit Structure

• Charge nurse on unit; charge takes a patient assignment
• Nurse aides available on unit
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

• Contract length: 13 weeks

• In-state presence required for the full week of orientation
• Drivers license required; must reside within 60 miles of the facility
• BSN not required
