Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Cardiac PCU nurse to join the stepdown unit. You'll provide direct care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures and acute cardiac events, working alongside a collaborative clinical team.

Shift & Schedule

• Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: December 7, 2026

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of direct cardiac PCU experience
• Current RN license (GA or compact license required)
• NIHSS certification required

Clinical Scope

You'll manage post-cardiac-procedure patients and those with acute cardiac conditions. Your responsibilities include continuous monitoring, medication administration, patient education, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and discharge planning.

Strong assessment skills, the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to evidence-based cardiac nursing practice. Experience with telemetry monitoring and familiarity with common cardiac interventions is essential.
