Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse — Travel Assignment
Redding, CA | 13-Week Contract | Days
This Med-Surg unit cares for a mixed medical and post-operative/surgical patient population. Nurses manage general medical cases alongside post-op patients, requiring solid assessment skills and comfort with a fast-paced acute care environment.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Every other weekend required; 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Holidays rotated into permanent staff schedule (RTO considered but not guaranteed)
- First to float; may float to telemetry unit or between Med-Surg floors
Clinical Details
- Patient population: general medical and post-surgical patients
- Must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms; dysrhythmia exam required (portable telemetry monitoring available with monitor tech support)
- Hospitalist coverage available 24/7; respiratory therapy and pharmacy on-site 24/7
- Charge nurse and clinical supervisor available for break relief; supervisor does not carry a patient assignment
- Nurse aide support on unit
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of Med-Surg experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS certification
- COVID vaccine required
- Must be a team player; no BSN requirement
- California RN license required prior to submission
Contract Details
- Start date: November 17, 2026
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
- Scrub color: Navy
- Orientation: 1 shift on unit
