Medical-Surgical Orthopedics | Travel Nurse | 13-Week Contract

Redding, CA | Days | 12-Hour Shifts

This Medical-Surgical Orthopedic unit focuses on post-operative and non-operative care for patients undergoing hip, knee, shoulder, and spine procedures. No drips or ventilated patients on this unit.

Shift Details

• 12-hour days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
• Holiday shifts rotate with permanent staff
• First to float (to telemetry or other med-surg floors)

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks (91 days)
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts over a 13-week assignment
• Start date: November 17, 2026

Clinical Environment

• Clinical supervisor serves as charge nurse with no patient assignment; provides break relief
• Nurse aide support available for 8 hours of the day shift
• Hospitalist in house 24/7; Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available around the clock
• Portable telemetry available as needed; monitor tech on unit — nurses must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms and will complete a dysrhythmia exam
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided

Requirements

• 2–3 years of Med-Surg Orthopedic experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Must be able to float to telemetry
• Scrub color: Navy
