Med Surg Oncology | Travel Nurse | Redding, CA

Join a dedicated med-surg oncology unit providing compassionate, high-quality care to a primarily oncology patient population, with some general med-surg overflow.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour days, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
• Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation (RTO considered but not guaranteed)
• First to float (to telemetry or other med-surg floors)

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks | Start: November 17, 2026
• Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
• Cancellation policy: Up to 4 shifts canceled per 13-week contract

Clinical Scope

• Oncology-focused patient population; chemo administration is not required
• Telemetry monitoring via portable tele box; monitor tech on unit — nurses must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythms (dysrhythmia exam required upon hire)
• No ventilator management on this unit
• Hospitalist coverage 24/7; respiratory therapy and pharmacy available around the clock
• Clinical supervisor provides break relief and does not carry a patient assignment
• One nurse aide on unit for 8 hours during day shift

Requirements

• 2–3 years of med-surg oncology experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification
• COVID vaccine required
• Ability to float to telemetry (must be comfortable with tele ratios)
• Scrubs: Navy

Orientation: One shift on the unit.
