Medical-Surgical Telemetry – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week contract on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You'll work day shifts (07:00–19:30), four 12-hour shifts per week, caring for a diverse adult patient population with both medical and surgical diagnoses.
Key Requirements
- California RN license (active, not pending)
- Minimum 2 years Med/Surg/Telemetry experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Must pass an onsite EKG exam on the first day of orientation
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
- First-time travelers welcome if you have 3+ years experience and large facility background
Schedule & Expectations
- Float position across Med/Surg and Telemetry units
- Weekend requirement: minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- No scheduling requests accommodated; flexibility essential
- No time off during the first 2 weeks
- Must be available to work 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
Clinical Scope
You'll manage telemetry monitoring, care for ventilated patients, administer chemotherapy, manage cardiac drips, handle central lines and arterial lines, monitor post-operative and post-cardiac-cath patients, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV services, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy.
