Med/Surg Tele RN – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a 13-week contract. You'll work rotating 3x12-hour shifts—either nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) or days (7:00 AM–7:30 PM)—with the possibility of floating to other units to care for similar patient populations. Shift rotation and float assignments may adjust based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a medical/surgical telemetry unit.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to acute changes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Complete required competency assessments during orientation, including ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety testing (both must be passed to continue).

Requirements

• 1 year of permanent, full-time experience in Med/Surg Tele nursing.
• Current Ohio nursing license or compact state license (in hand at time of submission).
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Willingness to work every other holiday.
• One professional reference (manager, supervisor, or director) from your specialty within the past 12 months; co-worker references are not accepted.
• Background checks and background investigation clearance required within 48 hours of contract signing.
