Travel RN – Respiratory Med-Surg | Nights | Zanesville, OH
Contract: 13 weeks | Start Date: November 16 (returning travelers within 9 months may have flexibility)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | 36 hours/week | Every other weekend required
About the Unit
This respiratory med-surg unit focuses on the care of adult patients with pulmonary diseases and complex medical-surgical needs. The unit manages a high-acuity population requiring continuous telemetry monitoring, with rapid patient turnover and varying levels of care needs.
Float Requirement: Nurses may float to similar med-surg areas including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarder assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult respiratory and med-surg patients
- Monitor, read, and independently interpret cardiac telemetry strips
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Adapt to a high-volume, fast-paced clinical environment
Requirements
- Active Ohio RN license
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience
- Ability to independently interpret telemetry strips (competency assessed on Day 1)
- Proficiency with electronic medical record charting is mandatory — no training or refreshers will be provided; candidates must be independently proficient prior to start
Additional Details
- No on-call requirement
- Facility may cancel up to 36 hours over the 13-week contract
- All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission
