Cardiac ICU – Travel RN | Redding, CA
13-Week Contract | 12-Hour Nights | 36 Hours Guaranteed
This Cardiac ICU position requires a clinically strong RN with recent, hands-on experience caring for fresh post-open-heart surgery patients, as well as experience managing mixed ICU populations. A proctored Dysrhythmia Test is administered on-site on day one — this is a pass/fail requirement.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend; holiday coverage may be required
- Self-scheduling with manager review; schedules posted approximately 6 weeks in advance
Unit Details
- Cardiac ICU managing high-acuity cardiac and complex medical patients
- Charge nurse on duty; does not carry a patient assignment
- Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
- Hospitalist coverage in-house around the clock
- No nurse aide support on unit
Float & Cancellation
- Float potential to telemetry or med-surg units
- Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled per 13-week assignment
Required Certifications
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
Additional Requirements
- Recent experience with fresh open-heart surgery patients is mandatory
- Mixed ICU experience required
- BSN not required
- Active CA RN license (agency will wait for licensure)
