Interventional Radiology – Travel RN | Waterloo, IA

Days | 13-Week Contract

The facility is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology nurse for a 13-week travel assignment. This is a Monday–Friday, day shift position (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 5×8-hour shifts) with on-call every third week and a holiday rotation.

Clinical Scope

The IR suite manages a diverse procedural volume, including:

• Biopsies, bleeds, tube placements, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• Port placements
• Intraprocedural sedation monitoring
• Cardiac and heparin drip management and titration

This role requires strong intraprocedural nursing skills and comfort managing hemodynamically complex patients in an active procedural environment.

Schedule Details

• Monday–Friday, Days
• On call: every 3rd week; holiday rotation required
• Weekend rotation: every 3rd weekend
• Holiday work: 1–2 winter holidays required unless the unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 15 months of interventional vascular experience in a hospital or medical center setting (24 months preferred per profile requirements)
• Intraprocedural IR experience required
• Sedation monitoring experience required
• Active Iowa RN license
• Active BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)

Candidate Notes

• First-time travelers welcome with at least 12 months of IR experience
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Skills checklist specific to interventional vascular/IR lab required at submission
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or manager within the past 24 months preferred
