Registered Nurse – Medical Step Down Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a medical step down unit. You'll provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment managing moderate to high-acuity conditions.
Unit Details
This medical step down unit focuses on patients transitioning from intensive care or requiring close monitoring. You'll care for patients with conditions including:
- Sepsis and infectious processes
- Heart failure and acute cardiac events
- Hypertensive emergencies
- Respiratory failure and COPD exacerbations
- Chronic kidney disease
- Status epilepticus and encephalopathy
- Substance abuse and withdrawal management
- Type 2 diabetes management
Shift & Staffing
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 days per week
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Float Responsibility: May float to other intermediate care units as needed
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Current RN license (state of practice)
- ACLS and BLS certifications
