MedSurg / Telemetry Travel Nurse — Grass Valley, CA
13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
This fast-paced Medical-Surgical unit manages general med-surg patients as well as post-operative general and orthopedic cases. The unit includes telemetry-capable beds, and travel nurses are expected to float to the telemetry unit as needed.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour days, shift start 6:45 AM with bedside report
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation shared with core staff (requests considered, not guaranteed)
- Overtime and extra shifts available; self-scheduling with manager approval
- Schedules posted four weeks in advance and accessible remotely
Clinical Requirements
- Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
- Competency required in Amiodarone and Diltiazem drips
- No ventilator management required
- Hospitalist/Intensivist in-house; 24/7 Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support
Certifications Required
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- A Dysrhythmia Exam (Basic) must be completed and passed prior to acceptance — two attempts allowed
Additional Details
- Scrub color: Navy (undershirts in navy, white, or black)
- Floor orientation: 1–2 days with a preceptor
- Nurse aides available based on census and staffing
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- BSN not required; active CA RN license required at submittal
- Two supervisor references required (one within 12 months, one within 3 years)
- Facility-wide orientation takes place off-site during the first week
