Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse | Night Shift | Redding, CA
13-Week Contract | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week
A busy medical-surgical unit is seeking an experienced travel RN for a 13-week night shift assignment. The unit cares for a mixed population of medical and post-operative/surgical patients in an acute care setting.
Shift Details
- 12-hour nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
- Holidays rotated into permanent staff schedule
- First to float — may float to telemetry or other med-surg floors
Clinical Scope
- Medical and post-surgical patient population
- Telemetry monitoring required; nurses must be able to read and interpret rhythms — a dysrhythmia exam is part of onboarding
- Portable tele boxes available; dedicated monitor technicians on unit
- Hospitalist coverage, IV team, and pharmacy all available 24/7
Requirements
- 2–3 years of med-surg experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- BLS certification
- COVID vaccination required
- Ability to pass dysrhythmia competency exam
Unit Details
- Scrub color: Navy
- Orientation: 1 shift on unit
- Charge nurse/clinical supervisor provides break relief and does not carry a patient assignment; 1 nurse aide on nights
- Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts may be cancelled over a 13-week assignment
