Emergency Department Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN to join a fast-paced, high-acuity team. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across a full spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions, from initial through discharge or admission.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients to determine acuity and prioritize care
- Provide rapid, comprehensive nursing care in a high-volume environment
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
- Monitor and manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
- Ensure infection control, safety, and de-escalation protocols are followed
- Support patient flow and throughput in a demanding setting
Requirements
- Active RN license (Kentucky or compact license)
- Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Experience with protocols and high-acuity environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)

- 3:00 PM – 3:00 AM
- 13-week contract
