Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled RN to join its medical-surgical/telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a 12-hour day shift role.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, identifying and responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute diagnoses (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and care team members on plan of care and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are implemented

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in the applicable state (compact license acceptable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred

Position Details

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 12, 2026
• Location: Paducah, Kentucky
