Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical Telemetry (MSU)

Rochester, NY | 13-Week Contract | Rotating Days & Nights

This medical/surgical telemetry unit serves an adult and geriatric population, providing cardiac monitoring and emergency response in an acute care setting. The unit is supported by a full interdisciplinary team including IV therapy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services.

Shift & Scheduling

• 4x12-hour rotating shifts (Days: 07:00–19:00 / Nights: 19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required, as needed

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active New York single-state RN license (NY is not a Compact state; license must be in hand at time of submission)
• BLS and NIHSS (valid NIHSS must be included with submission)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; travel experience required
• Prior charge experience preferred

Clinical Skills

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Rapid Response and Code team participation
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
• Oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and PPE

Unit Details

• Scrub color: Navy blue and white combination
• Floating required within skillset
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible

Additional Requirements

• Pre-employment modules completed prior to start date
• Requested time off must be submitted at time of application; no more than 10 days of RTO accepted
