Pediatric Surgical RN – 8-Week Contract

Position Overview

Join a pediatric surgical team in a fast-paced operating room environment. This is an ASAP start, 8-week contract offering variable 4x10-hour shifts with immediate availability needed.

Schedule & Commitment

• Shifts: 4x10 hours, variable start times (day or night)
• First week: 8-hour orientation shifts
• Weekends/Holidays: Required; scheduling based on department needs
• On-Call: 4 calls per 4-week schedule (includes night call)
• Maximum time off: 6 days between contracts
• Holiday requirement: Must work 2 out of 3 holidays

Clinical Scope

You'll scrub cases across 16 surgical suites handling approximately 20,000 cases annually. Specialties include:

• General surgery (including pediatric and adult cases)
• Orthopedic and spine procedures
• Neurosurgery and craniofacial surgery
• Cardiac and transplant surgery (kidney, liver, pediatric cardiac)
• ENT, urology, plastics, endoscopy, laser, and dental procedures
• Trauma cases

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years surgical nursing; at least 6 months pediatric OR experience (general surgical preferred)
• License: California RN license (pending licensure accepted with ETA)
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) and PALS (AHA)
• Flu vaccine: Required; no exemptions
• Floating: Yes, within scope to support department needs
• First-time travelers: Accepted if strong RN background
