Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a 17-week night shift assignment. You'll provide direct care to adults and geriatric patients in a progressive care setting, managing moderate to high-acuity cases with telemetry monitoring and post-procedural care.
Shift & Scheduling
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- Floating: Yes, within scope as needed to support unit operations
- Orientation: 12 hours
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience (first-time travel candidates welcome)
- Active PA or compact state RN license at time of submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA certifications only)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available)
Clinical Focus
You'll care for patients with CHF, new-onset atrial fibrillation, COPD, and ia. Core competencies include:
- Cardiac telemetry (on-unit and remote monitoring)
- Central line and port management
- Post-cardiac catheterization and post-MI care
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Cardiac and vasoactive drip management (per protocol, no titration)
- Phlebotomy and IV management
- Tracheostomy and chest tube care
Support Services
Interdisciplinary team includes IV services, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response, and social services.
