PACU RN – Travel Contract | Greensburg, PA

13-Week Assignment | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts

This PACU opportunity is located in Greensburg, PA and serves a diverse patient population including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients across a busy perianesthesia unit.

Shift & Schedule

• Primary shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12s per week)
• Call requirement: 1 overnight call per week (9:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday–Friday)
• Weekend call: Saturday & Sunday coverage required
• Weekend schedule: 3 twelve-hour weekend shifts per 6-week schedule — can be split across three weekends or concentrated into one weekend, freeing up the remaining five

Clinical Scope

The unit manages Phase I PACU recovery, pre/post-operative care, and patients receiving general, local, MAC, and nerve block anesthesia. Required clinical skills include:

• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Conscious sedation monitoring
• Narcotic/opioid analgesic administration and reversal agents
• Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol
• Pain assessment & RASS scoring
• Experience with ENT, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, and Plastics surgical populations

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PACU/perianesthesia experience; prior travel experience required
• Active Pennsylvania or Compact RN license at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA accepted only)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Willingness to float within the facility and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius

Additional Details

• No locals (must reside more than 50 miles from facility)
• Every other holiday required
