Step-Down RN | Night Shift | Lubbock, TX

This short-term contract opportunity is on an adult step-down/intermediate care unit with a primary focus on nephrology and renal patients.Contract Details

• Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Contract Duration: Approximately 4 weeks (11/1–12/13), with extension potential for local candidates prior to the holidays
• Orientation: 40 hours
• Weekends: Required every other weekend
• On-Call: Not required
• Float: Required to other IMC units within scope; refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours
• Holiday commitment: Must be available for 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

Clinical Scope

The unit primarily serves renal patients, including those with renal failure and renal transplant. Key skills include titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips (hard requirement), managing cardiac telemetry, central and PICC line care, tracheostomy management, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, chest tube management, and wound care. Peritoneal dialysis is performed at bedside by the dialysis team.

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of step-down/PCU/IMC experience
• Compact RN license required and must be active at time of submission
• 2 professional references covering the past 3 years
