ICU RN — Neurosurgical/Neuro ICU | Lubbock, TX

Days | 3x12 | 07:00–19:00 | 13-Week Contract

This opportunity is with a fast-paced Neurosurgical and Neuro ICU unit caring for adult and geriatric patients. The unit primarily manages stroke, intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), craniotomy, and complex neurosurgical cases, with a daily census of approximately 13 patients.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
• Block scheduling available, approved based on unit needs
• No on-call required
• Float to other ICU units required; refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours

Clinical Scope

• Procedures include bedside EVD placement, bedside intubation, and ICP and neuro monitoring with frequent neuro checks
• Key skills required: ventilator management, arterial line and central line management, ICP monitoring, EVD management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, BiPAP/CPAP, IV insulin protocols, lumbar drain management, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, CVA/acute stroke management, and traumatic brain injury management

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience; Neuro ICU experience strongly preferred
• Compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• 12-hour orientation
• Scrubs: solid navy blue
• 2 professional references from within the last 3 years required

All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront. Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major winter holidays.
