Neuro ICU – Travel RN | Night Shift | Lubbock, TX

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12 (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Start: November 2026

This is a night-shift travel RN opportunity in a busy Neurosurgical/Neuro ICU. The unit primarily manages patients with acute stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, post-craniotomy, and complex neurosurgical diagnoses. Candidates with Neuro ICU background are strongly preferred.

Unit Scope & Patient Population

• Adults and geriatric patients; neurosurgical and stroke-focused ICU
• Bedside procedures include EVD placement and intubation
• Continuous neuro monitoring and frequent neuro checks are routine
• Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response, physical therapy, and radiology

Scheduling

• Block scheduling available based on staffing and unit needs
• Minimum 6 weekend shifts per 13-week contract
• Float to other ICU units may be required; refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours
• 48-hour weeks approved
• Must commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Key Clinical Skills

• Ventilator management, ICP monitoring, EVD management
• Arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips; IV insulin protocols
• CVA/acute stroke management, traumatic brain injury, post-craniotomy care
• Neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Valid compact RN license required at time of submission
• 2 professional references required (within last 3 years)
• Scrub color: Solid navy blue
