Travel RN – Medical/Surgical Telemetry | Maryville, TN

Shift: Nights | 3x12 (19:00–07:30)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: November 16, 2026

This Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit cares for an adult and geriatric population with a focus on general medical, pre- and post-operative patients. The unit performs a range of bedside procedures and offers robust interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, IV teams, rapid response, and more.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• Post-cardiac catheterization care
• Bedside procedures: dialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis, incision & drainage
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Pre/post hemodialysis management
• Central line, PICC line, and port access/management
• Blood product administration, heparin protocols, wound care/wound vac, PCA, CBI, and feeding tube management

Schedule & Coverage

• Every other weekend required; subject to change based on unit need
• Float to similar units may be required based on census

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN license (Tennessee)
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of Medical/Surgical Telemetry experience
• Minimum 1 year of electronic medical records experience
• First-time travelers considered based on experience

Flu Vaccine: Required — no exemptions

COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required

Onboarding Notes

• Orientation held every Monday
• Pre-assignment testing and online modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable
