Cardiac Telemetry / Progressive Care — Travel RN

Maryville, TN | Days 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 3x12 | 13-Week Contract

This progressive care / cardiac telemetry unit manages adults stepping down from ICU-level care. Patients present with higher oxygen demands, atrial fibrillation, dialysis needs, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery. No ventilator or vasopressor support is required on this unit.

Clinical Scope

• Cardiac drip management including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, and sotolol initiation
• Continuous cardiac telemetry and remote monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Pre/post cardiac cath care, post-MI management
• High-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management; peritoneal dialysis
• Central line care, chest tube management, tracheostomy care
• Blood product administration, PCA, wound care/wound vac
• Heparin protocols, ABG interpretation

Scheduling

• Days, 3x12 (07:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required; schedule may flex based on census
• Float to similar med-surg units may be required
• Block scheduling

Required Certifications & Licensure

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active Tennessee RN license

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent progressive care or cardiac telemetry experience
• Electronic health record experience required (minimum 1 year)
• First-time travelers considered based on qualifying experience
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted

Onboarding

• Orientation: 24 hours, Mondays
• Pre-assignment testing and online modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving system access; up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable
