Travel RN – Medical/Surgical Telemetry | Nights | Maryville, TN

Shift: 3x12 Nights | 19:00–07:30

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: November 16, 2026

This Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with general medical diagnoses, pre- and post-operative needs, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery. The unit offers robust interdisciplinary support including IV therapy, respiratory services, rapid response, pharmacy, and social services.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• Post heart cath monitoring and care
• Bedside procedures: dialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis, incision & drainage
• Cardiac drip management (no titration), dysrhythmia interpretation
• Central line, PICC, and port access/management
• Pre/post hemodialysis management, continuous bladder irrigation
• Blood product administration, heparin protocols, wound care/wound vac, PCA management

Schedule Details

• Every other weekend required; schedule may shift based on unit need
• Float to similar units required based on census

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN – Tennessee license
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Electronic health record experience required (1-year minimum)
• First-time travelers considered based on experience

Additional Requirements

• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Pre-assignment testing and orientation modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 billable hours)
• Orientation held every Monday
