Utilization Review Nurse / Discharge Planner
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Utilization Review Nurse or Case Manager for a temporary-to-permanent role. You'll support the care coordination and discharge planning process, working alongside a collaborative healthcare team.
Schedule & Hours
- Five 8-hour shifts per week
- 40 hours guaranteed weekly
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 13-week contract with potential for permanent placement
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct utilization review and case management activities
- Coordinate discharge planning and patient transitions
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Manage documentation and communication with payers and providers
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Proof of negative TB screen (within past 12 months)
- Demonstrated experience in utilization review or case management
Location
Arcata, CA area. Housing resources available in surrounding communities including Eureka, McKinleyville, Blue Lake, Samoa, and Fortuna (within 30-mile radius).
