ICU Registered Nurse – Day Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract working 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00). This role offers the opportunity to care for high-acuity patients in a fast-paced critical care environment with strong interdisciplinary support.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Current RN license in South Carolina at time of submission
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Travel experience required
• Weekend availability required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Two supervisory references required

Clinical Scope

You'll manage complex patient populations including post-cardiac surgery, acute stroke, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, cardiac and respiratory arrest, neurosurgical cases, organ procurement, and end-of-life care. Core competencies include:

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Arterial and central line management
• Continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and suctioning
• Arterial blood gas interpretation
• CRRT and targeted temperature management support
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction

Scheduling & Expectations

• 48 guaranteed hours per week
• Float within the facility and to affiliated hospitals as needed
• Expect some holiday coverage
• Minimize time-off requests, especially during the first two weeks
• All time off must be pre-approved before assignment start

Support

You'll collaborate with Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and other clinical departments.
