Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse
Position Details

About the Role
The facility's PACU manages the post-operative recovery of patients following general anesthesia and procedural sedation. You'll provide direct bedside care to patients emerging from anesthesia, monitor vital signs and pain levels, administer medications, and prepare patients for discharge or transfer to appropriate units.
Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological status in the immediate post-operative period
- Manage pain and nausea using pharmacological and comfort measures
- Document recovery progress and communicate with surgical and anesthesia teams
- Educate patients and families on post-operative expectations
- Maintain a safe, clean recovery environment
Qualifications
- Current RN license (Tennessee)
- ACLS certification required
- PACU experience preferred
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills
