Registered Nurse – Family Birthing Center
Position Overview
Join the Family Birthing Center as a Registered Nurse working nights (6:00 PM–6:00 AM). This 13-week contract offers 24 guaranteed hours per week, with weekends and holidays required. Overtime is optional.
Requirements
- Current, active RN license in Colorado
- Minimum two years of nursing experience
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
- BLS & NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
Clinical Scope
You will provide direct care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum phases. Your responsibilities include:
- Independently assess and evaluate the health status of laboring patients and neonates
- Monitor maternal and fetal responses; assist with education and breastfeeding support
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and the healthcare team to establish care goals
- Plan and implement evidence-based interventions, including patient education and counseling
- Document all clinical events and patient education in the medical record
- Communicate patient conditions to physicians and nursing supervisors
- Assist physicians with procedures and with emergency response in other units as needed
- Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and families
- Support colleague skill development and equipment competency
Physical Demands
Regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds. Close and peripheral vision required for monitoring patients and reading medical records. Ability to detect odor changes.
