Night Shift Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Full-time
About the Role
The facility is seeking a full-time RN for its medical-surgical unit. You'll care for adult patients across a range of acuities, including those recovering from joint replacements, general abdominal surgeries, and spinal procedures, alongside medical patients requiring routine and complex care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Manage complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Delegate tasks appropriately and work collaboratively with the care team
- Provide patient and family education; identify learning needs and available resources
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care delivered
- Develop and refine clinical contingency management skills
Requirements
- RN license in Texas or compact state
- BLS certification (AHA)
- 1+ year experience in med/surg or related nursing specialty (preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
