Pediatric Emergency Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its pediatric emergency department. You'll provide compassionate, high-acuity care to infants, children, and adolescents presenting with emergent and urgent conditions. This role emphasizes rapid assessment, family-centered care, and clinical decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule & Contract Details
- On-Call: Every 5th weekend; 7 a.m.–7 p.m. Saturday–Sunday
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 22, 2026

Key Responsibilities
- and assess pediatric patients; prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications and treatments with precise pediatric dosing
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid deterioration
- Support family-centered care; involve parents/caregivers throughout the visit
- Provide developmentally appropriate comfort measures and distraction techniques
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Ensure accurate documentation, infection control, and safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- 1+ years of pediatric emergency department experience
- BLS and PALS certification
- ADN or BSN
Preferred Qualifications
- CPEN (Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse)
- Experience with pediatric protocols
