Labor & Delivery / LDRP | 12-Hour Nights | Folsom, CA
This 13-week contract is based in a Family Birthing Center offering full LDRP care, antepartum testing, and cesarean delivery services. The unit averages 70–80 births per month along with approximately 60–70 NST antepartum tests monthly. A perinatal specialist is on-site to support neonatal outcomes, and an OB is in house 24/7. Anesthesia is on-call with a 20-minute response time; if a patient has an epidural, anesthesia remains in house for the duration.
Shift Details
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Scheduling provided 4 weeks in advance
Clinical Expectations
- Must be comfortable performing deliveries ("catching the baby") — confirm experience prior to applying
- Titrate Pitocin and occasional insulin drips
- NRP competency required; no in-house pediatric coverage
- Respiratory Therapy attends every delivery and manages respiratory support as needed
- Patients cared for are generally 35 weeks and above; preterm patients under 35 weeks are transferred to a higher level of care
- Float requirement to other Sacramento-area facilities applies
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year LDRP experience required; 3 years preferred
- L&D-only candidates considered if they have OR circulating experience
- Postpartum-only experience will not be accepted
- Active California RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
Weekend & Call
- 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Nights: Friday/Saturday)
- On-call/standby possible on scheduled shifts; must be available to report within 30 minutes
