Orthopedic & Medical-Surgical Nursing – Night Shift

Position Overview

Join the orthopedic and medical-surgical nursing team for a 13-week contract working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

The Role

You'll provide direct patient care on a combined orthopedic and medical-surgical unit, managing a typical patient load of six patients per shift. The unit welcomes nurses at all experience levels. You'll work alongside PCTs, SNEs, and day-shift unit secretaries to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Bedside procedures are occasionally performed by physicians on this unit, though less frequently than in critical care or emergency settings.

Scheduling & Expectations

• Full-time position with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Monthly scheduling (4-week increments)
• Four weekend shifts per month required (e.g., 3 Saturdays and 1 Sunday)
• Float assignments to other inpatient units, CCU, and ED as needed

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• RN or LPN license
• Positive attitude, strong teamwork, and commitment to patient-centered care
• Ability to manage multiple patients and collaborate effectively

Dress Code

Scrub top and bottoms required. Long sleeve shirt or scrub jacket permitted under scrubs. No fleece, hoodies, sweatshirts, or sweaters. Closed-toe shoes required; no denim or camo.
