EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT REGISTERED NURSE
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a fast-paced, high-volume team. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions, from initial through discharge or admission. This role requires quick clinical decision-making, strong assessment skills, and the ability to remain calm during high-acuity situations.
Key Responsibilities
- and assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders and protocols
- Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
- Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols; support de-escalation when needed
- Support efficient patient flow in a high-volume setting
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- NIHSS certification
- Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing
- Proficiency with electronic medical records
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
Shift & Contract Details
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 22, 2026
