Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Louisville, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Schedule: Every other weekend

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: November 22, 2026

About the Role

The facility's telemetry unit provides continuous cardiac monitoring and acute nursing care to patients with cardiac and other acute conditions. You'll assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient status, interpret cardiac rhythms, manage cardiac medications and drips, and collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments; make sound clinical decisions independently
• Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously; identify and escalate arrhythmias appropriately
• Administer medications per physician orders, including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition; participate in rapid response and code interventions as needed
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Manage assigned patient load per unit acuity and staffing guidelines
• Implement infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Mentor and precept staff as appropriate; participate in quality and safety improvement efforts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact license)
• Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience with 1+ year telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Experience managing cardiac medications and monitoring cardiac rhythms
• ADN or BSN
