Operating Room RN
Location: Watertown, NY
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8-hour days)
Schedule: Monday–Friday with weekend, holiday, and on-call requirements
On-Call: 30-minute response time required
About the Role
Join the operating room team in a fast-paced surgical environment. You'll support a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining high standards of patient safety and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the OR/ASU setting
- Assess and respond to patient clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual needs
- Implement safe patient handling techniques
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately
- Maintain aseptic technique and proper use of clinical equipment
- May assume charge nurse duties as needed
- Function effectively under pressure with strong problem-solving skills
- Lead, prioritize, and delegate team tasks
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current New York State RN license
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Knowledge of OR/ASU equipment and protocols
- Strong safety awareness, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experienced RNs should demonstrate leadership capabilities and preceptorship experience
Guaranteed 40 hours per week
