Telemetry Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN to join its cardiac monitoring unit. You'll provide direct patient care to individuals with cardiac and acute conditions, delivering continuous monitoring, skilled assessment, and compassionate care.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend as per unit needs
- 13-week contract
- Start date: November 15, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation; identify and escalate arrhythmias promptly
- Assess patients and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
- Respond to rapid response and code situations as needed
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, treatment, and lifestyle modifications
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EMR
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
- Supervise and mentor licensed and non-licensed staff as appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
- Minimum 2 years acute care telemetry experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
- Experience with cardiac rhythm monitoring and cardiac medications
- Proficiency with the facility's EMR system
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
