Registered Nurse – Mother Baby
Location: Lexington, KY
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3x12 shifts per week)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role
The facility's Mother Baby unit is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide couplet care to postpartum mothers and their newborns. You'll deliver evidence-based nursing care grounded in clinical assessment, patient-centered education, and holistic support during one of life's most meaningful transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive maternal assessments, monitoring fundal checks, lochia, incision/perineal healing, and early complications such as hemorrhage, infection, or preeclampsia
- Conduct newborn assessments including vital signs, feeding readiness, and screening test monitoring
- Provide breastfeeding support, infant care education, and discharge teaching to promote confident bonding and parenting
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders for both mother and baby
- Collaborate with OB physicians, pediatricians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate individualized care plans
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and accurately
- Prioritize patient safety, comfort, and emotional well-being throughout the postpartum recovery period
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
- ADN or ASN; BSN preferred
- BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- 1+ years of mother baby/postpartum nursing experience
Preferred Qualifications
- RNC-MNN (Maternal Newborn Nursing) certification
Schedule Details
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM – 7 AM)
- 4 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- No call required
- Holidays as needed
