Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical/Telemetry

Position Overview

Join the nursing team on a dedicated Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit caring for adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care in a collaborative environment that values clinical excellence and patient-centered healing.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and vital sign assessment, recognizing and responding promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac infusions as applicable
• Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care with attention to wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions, including diabetes, cardiac, and respiratory diagnoses
• Educate patients and families on their condition, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team—physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and others—on care planning and discharge coordination
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Uphold infection control and fall prevention standards

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1+ year of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted

Schedule

• 3rd shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekends and holidays as needed
• 13-week contract
• Start date: November 16, 2026
