About the Role
This Medical-Surgical RN position is based at an acute care facility in Tehachapi, CA — a scenic mountain community just north of Southern California's major metro areas. The unit delivers coordinated inpatient nursing care across a range of acuity levels, with RNs taking ownership of the full nursing process from assessment through discharge planning.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
- Supervise and direct assigned nursing staff, delegating appropriately
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and promote safe outcomes
- Provide patient and family education and health information
- Participate actively in discharge planning to support continuity of care
Requirements
- Active RN licensure in California
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
- BSN preferred
- Electronic health record experience required
Additional Notes
- Night shift only; 36-hour weekly commitment
- Holiday time-off requests will not be approved during this contract
