Medical-Surgical RN | Tehachapi, CA | 13-Week Contract

This Med-Surg position is based at a community hospital serving a rural mountain region of California. The unit delivers coordinated nursing care across a general medical-surgical patient population, with an emphasis on assessment, individualized care planning, and safe transitions through discharge.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• 36 hours per week (guaranteed)
• Holiday RTO will not be approved

Clinical Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to established standards
• Supervise and delegate to varying levels of nursing staff
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care delivery
• Provide patient and family education throughout the care continuum
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (or compact equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS certification — AHA or ARC (required)
• Prior experience with electronic health records (required)

Preferred

• BSN
• Acute care facility background

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
