Medical-Surgical Telemetry – Night Shift RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its medical-surgical telemetry unit, working nights on a flexible schedule.Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour nights (18:30–07:00)
• Schedule options: 36/36, 36/48, or 48/48
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call

• Potential shift cancellations without penalty if census decreases

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in med-surg or telemetry
• AHA BLS certification (required; only AHA-issued cards accepted)
• ACLS preferred
• First-time travelers welcome
• Must reside 100+ miles from the facility

Clinical Skills

You'll manage IV access, central lines, PICC lines, blood draws, PCA pumps, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feeding tubes, ostomy care, and blood product administration. You'll participate actively in nursing student education and clinical mentorship.

Orientation & Compliance

• Orientation begins Sundays with online modules (16 hours non-billable)
• Relias basic EKG test required within 72 hours of acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Drug screening required 12–14 days prior to start
• Fit testing required; facial hair must be trimmed per CDC guidelines
