Night Shift RN – Intermediate Care

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a full-time RN for night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on an intermediate care unit. This is a 12-week contract role.

Unit & Patient Population

You'll care for patients with mixed diagnoses and varying acuity levels, including those with respiratory issues, sepsis, and multiple comorbidities. The role requires independent nursing practice with the ability to manage complex clinical situations and delegate effectively to the care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Monitor patients closely, administer medications and treatments per protocol, and assess for side effects and effectiveness
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Educate patients and families; identify learning needs and available resources
• Manage clinical contingencies and make appropriate care assignments

Requirements

• RN license in Texas or compact state (current and active)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty
• BLS certification (AHA) – current and required
• ACLS certification (AHA) – current and required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Onboarding

All new hires participate in orientation within the first 30 days and are precepted by a designated trained staff member. Competency validation occurs at the bedside and is tracked through the organization's program system.
