NICU Nurse – 12-Hour Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced NICU nurse for a 13-week contract working 12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) with every-other-weekend rotation. You'll provide direct patient care in a Level 3 NICU, with occasional float responsibilities to the pediatric unit.
Unit Description
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- PALS and STABLE preferred
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Comfort with high-frequency oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
- Previous travel nursing experience not required
Schedule & Expectations
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7 AM)
- Every-other-weekend requirement
- Self-scheduling model
- Low-census call (standby only)
- Float to pediatric unit as needed; no nurse aides on staff
Orientation
- 2–3 shifts in NICU
- 2 shifts in pediatrics (if floating)

- Navy scrubs
- Cancellation policy: hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
