Medical-Surgical RN – Night Shift | Nashville, TN
This is a 13-week night shift contract (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a busy Medical-Surgical unit in Nashville, TN. The unit manages a general medical population requiring strong assessment skills and attentive, patient-centered care.
Schedule & Hours
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required (Saturday & Sunday)
- Weekdays flexible
- Float requirement: PRN, typically within Medical-Surgical units
Clinical Scope
- General medical-surgical patient population
- Procedures performed: IV placement and Foley catheter insertion
- Patient experience standards include hourly rounding
- Support staff includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians
Required Skills & Certifications
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Experience with IV pumps and medication dispensing cabinets
- BLS (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
- CPI preferred
Dress Code
Black or royal blue scrubs
