Medical-Surgical RN – Night Shift | Nashville, TN

This 13-week night shift contract places you on a general Medical-Surgical unit in Nashville, TN. The unit manages a diverse adult patient population requiring strong assessment skills, wound care, remote telemetry monitoring, and patient mobility support.

Shift & Schedule

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) required
• Weekday scheduling is flexible
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Clinical Scope

• Procedures performed: IV placement and foley catheter insertion
• Wound vac management, remote telemetry, and virtual patient monitoring
• Supported by Patient Care Technicians on all shifts

Float Requirements

• PRN float, most commonly to other Medical-Surgical units

Required Certifications & Skills

• BLS (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale (required)
• CPI (preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment skills
• Proficiency with IV pumps and medication dispensing systems

Dress Code

• Black or Royal Blue scrubs

This role is well-suited for an experienced Med-Surg nurse who is comfortable managing a general adult population, performing core bedside procedures, and adapting to a collaborative unit environment. Commitment to hourly rounding and patient experience standards is expected.
